My g2-grandma was Ivanona Mudora (Willingham) Jones, daughter of Isaac Willingham and Mary F. (Carlisle) Willingham. Of that much I am pretty confident. Also note the following census records:

I understand that John C. Willingham is the father of Isaac Willingham. Their close proximity to each other in the 1850 and 1860 census records suggests this is true, but I would feel better if someone could help my prove it beyond doubt. Did John C. Willingham leave a will, for example?
Also, I am wondering about the WILLINGHAM line upwards from there. I have seen the claims to Columbia Co., GA, and Lunenburg County, Virginia prior to that. I think these things may be correct, but again, I would like to see some proof.
And, of course, I am interested in all the collateral lines (Carlisle, Spinks[?], Brown, etc.) as well, and generally any documentation on any of these folks.
One thing I am really interested in is GRIFFIN. I can't figure out why that names exists in "my" Willingham line. I can see why it exists in other WILLINGHAM lines, because there was intermarriage with GRIFFIN in those lines. But in "my" line, I can find no GRIFFIN, yet it is used as a given name. And it doesn't come from uncles (by marriage) either. The closest I can come is to an aunt by marriage. This is not usually the way kids are named, in my experience. So I am thinking there is likely another GRIFFIN marriage hidden in there somewhere.
