Looking for information on ggrandparents: TIMOTHY HENNESSY, b. ca 1821, Lisvernane, Glen of Aherlow, Clonbeg Cty, Tipperary, IR,imm. ca 1853?; ca 1870 Chicago m. GRACE CRONIN, b. ca 1835, Ballylanders, Limerick, IR. Two children: MARY ELIZABETH (Mrs. David Brennan) b. 1871-1937; MICHAEL, 1874-1891. Grace Cronin Hennessy died of typhoid pneumonia, 28 Dec 1884, and Timothy Hennessy died 17 Jun 1888. Family buried in Calvary cemetery, Evanston IL.
Timothy Hennessy's sisters: CATHERINE, b. 1824, Lisvernane, Tipp., d. 16 Nov 1900, Chicago; HONORA b. ca 1841 Lisvernane, m. JOHN PUMA, 1 Oct 1879, Chicago; MARY married to ROBERT FOX in Tipperary, did not immigrate.
Daughter of Mary & Robert Fox, MARY FOX b. 12 Mar 1860 in Tipperary, married first husband THOMAS POWER, 21 Aug 1889 in Chicago. THOMAS POWER of Emily Parish, Tipperary, IR died 12 Oct 1896 (age 32). Three daughters (from obituary): MRS. EMIL SUTTER, MRS. ANDREW O'CONNOR, MRS. LEWIS WEBER (do not have any information on these persons. Mary later married PETER DUNNE (date & place unknown). Mary was noted as widow of Peter Dunne in her obituary,Chicago Daily News, 28 Apr 1937.
Timothy Hennessy & Grace Cronin may have had other siblings/relatives who immigrated (possibly to CT before coming to IL). Would like to share information with anyone researching these names.
