Unfortunately no, this does not help sort out my guy, but thanks for the information.
My John Dickson (sic), was listed in the 1850 census for Bibb Co., GA., district 482, Pg. 4, living with wife Hannah and her daughter, Sarah Bryant. Next door was listed John's son Henry Dixon (sic) and his family.
In 1860 John is listed in the Smith Co., TX census, Starrville Beat, pg. 78, with his wife Hannah and granddaughters, Mary and Jane.
John died in 1867 and is buried in the Starrville Cemetery in Smith County, TX.
Seems we are in the same predicament, and are both unable to prove the relationship to Michael Dickson--unless you have other sources to offer? I would truly love to hear about them if you do.
