My GGrandmother is a Martha Cora Bowers born 3/18/1871 in Roberta (Crawford County), Ga and she died 2/26/1909 I believe in Fort Valley. She married Steven Bennett Wilson and one of their daughters, Maude Wilson, is who I'm descended from. I've seen a possibility of Cora's parents being a Henry C and Martha Bowers, but I cannot prove it.
Steven Bennett Wilson's ( 1863-1950) father was Stephen Levi Wilson (1823-1909) and I think his mother was a Martha Sandefur. Cora was his first marriage and he then married Betty Mae Berry who I believe had twins from a previous marriage. All I've heard is that he used to own a store in Fort Valley.
If anyone has any proof or info about any of these people I'd be glad to see it. My grandmother was Maude Wilson, Cora and Steven Bennett's daughter, and it seems nobody discussed her family very much. I do know that Maude had 3 sisters and 2 brothers as well as the twins from their fathers's remarriage.
