William Johnson -- I need suggestions!

I'm just about at my wit's end! I can't find William. Any suggestions for finding him are most welcome!!

William Johnson, who was also know as Bill, was born (and I'm just guessing) about 1885 in Dade County, GA.

He married Clara Alma Davenport (she was called Alma) around 1907. Her father was a reverand (William David Davenport) and the story is that he married them. I just don't know where they were married.

It's also been said that he heard he could get work as a mason in MO and so they went there.

Their first child, Elsie Caldonia, was born 24 Jun 1908 in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO.

Rumor has it that William was a drinker and that Alma, whose father was a very religious, couldn't abide by it and left him, while she was pregnant with their second child. She moved back to Georgia, where she delivered...

Their second child, Lee Edward, was born 22 Jun 1911 in Tunnel Hill, Whitfield, GA.

I don't know if she divorced William, but Alma married a Roscoe Massey and had two daughters before she married again to Richard Alexander Monds in 1919 and had many children.

I don't know what ever happened to William (did he die or did he get remarried and have more children?)and it seems that once Alma left him, he was never spoken of again. I've looked through census records and haven't been able to find him or the family.

Can someone help me??
