Kim, I just tried to post this message and my computer cut me off, so hope this is not a repeat. Just realized that I'm answering my e-mail and posts backward today! Sorry. I would just love to have a copy of the guardianship paper! So, James Brown and Mary Cartwright are your 3rd great grandparents? Mary Cartwright and other husband James Ketcherside are also my 3rd great grandparents. Their son Enoch Blackburn Ketcherside is my direct line. His daughter, Willie Ida, married a Van Deren. I've not had the chance to go to Long Cemetery. I will if the opportunity ever comes along. Would love to photograph the graves there. I don't know why Andrew would not have included both his parents. That only makes sense to me that he would have done that. There are probably so many mysteries we'd love to know about those people of so long ago! Wanted to get your opinion. . . My grandfather, who died as a very young man, was named Edwin Brown Van Deren. He is the grandson of Enoch Blackburn Ketcherside, great-grandson of James Ketcherside and Mary Cartwright. So he does not share the Brown bloodline, as far as I can tell. He also had a brother who shared his middle name of "Brown" who was not actually a Brown. The relationship between the Browns, Cartwrights, Ketchersides must have been a very strong one to have children who did not atually share that line named Brown. My grandfather was actually called "Browne" as is one of my first cousins. Neither was actually descended from the Browns. Any ideas? You've been such a great help Kim. Thanks! If you have the chance to send that paper I'd be so grateful. My e-mail is: vaslim123435@sdhsi.com. Thanks again. Jacquilyn Notify Administrator about this message?
