A new book is out which records a good deal of folk history of related families of the North Carolina and Northern Georgia Mountain counties, (Appalachian and Smoky Mountains of NC, GA, and TN.) Also some in northeast AL hills. Mostly concentrated in the North Georgia Mountains, but covers all of Southern Appalachia. It includes some 200 true Appalachian stories of humor and various family histories, and some genealogy resources for these mountain regions. It is called "High Humor Of The Hills," and I only list it here as a resource on family and folk history. Also includes some tables about mountain pioneer families. Here is the link to it: http://hometown.aol.com/mommwoww/index.html PS: This is not an overall genealogy reference book, nor strictly relegated to genealogy research... but more of a focus on mountain family folklore and humor of NE GA, and western NC and SC. Several related families of interest to us are mentioned. The only "hard-fact genealogy" in it is a listing of pioneer settlers of the mountain counties in NE GA. But it is still a priceless record to have, about the lives and times of several related mountain families and the humorous things which happened to them. Notify Administrator about this message?
