1. JOHN (HIX)5 HICKS (FATHER4, GEORGE3, GEORGE2, ROBERT1) was born Abt. 1807 in South Carolina, and died Aft. 1880 in Probably Hall County, GA. He married (1) UNKNOWN Abt. 1838 in South Carolina. She was born 1812 in South Carolina, and died Bef. 1850 in South Carolina. He married (2) MATILDA ? Abt. 1850 in Georgia. She was born Abt. 1827 in Georgia, and died in Georgia.

John's first wife's name not known. He has 8 children shown on the censuses.
Note: There is a Henry Hicks on the 1860 Shoal Creek census too, age 19 married to Mandy. Moertality Index 18690 Dawsonville, Dawson, Ga. John J. Hix, age 1 month dued Nat 1759 cause unknown sick 15 days. I think this was Henr's and Mandy's son. I believe that Henry is the son of this John Hix Hicks.
