Benton P. Cannon
November 16, 1944 - April 21, 2007
Funeral services for Benton "Ben" Palmer Cannon, 62, of Dothan Alabama, were held Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel in Dothan with the Rev. Dr. Charley Chase officiating.
Interment followed in Memory Hill Cemetery with Larry Rister, Johnny Culpepper, Chip Bailey, Dr. James Robeson, Henry Morris and Nick Shimoda serving as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Short Term Missions Fund, 3012 West Main Street, Dothan Alabama 36305.
Mr. Cannon died Saturday April 21, 2007, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. He was born in Bainbridge and had lived in Dothan the past 24 years. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and was a former chairman of deacons. He was a member of the men's Bible study group for the past few years. He enjoyed various hobbies including woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Cannon; one son, Stephen Cannon of Montgomery, Alabama; two daughters, Susan Flowers of Katy, Texas, and Julie Elmore of Dothan; eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Byrd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
