Decatur County, Past and Present

"Young Elkins b. 1790 GA, married Gaden b. 1800 GA. Their children:
1. William Elkins b. 1813 GA, died prior to 1873, married Rebecca. Their children: Gatsy Ann Elkins born Feb 1834, died after 1910, married 23 Oct 1849 Bartly Eynn; Sarah A. Elkins b. 1836; John H. Elkins b. 1839; Nancy Elkins b. 1849, all of his children were born in Thomas County; however he was in Decatur County on the 1830 census.
2. John Elkins born 1820 GA, died 4 July 1873, married Sarah.
3. Young B. Elkins born 1825 GA, married 19 Sept 1844 to Elizabeth Trulock.
4. Lucinda Elkins born 1825 GA, married 13 July 1837 to Samuel Johnson.
5. Henry Elkins born 1828 GA, died prior to 1873, married Dorothy.
6. Jane Elkins born 1831 GA.
7. Sarah Ann Elkins born GA, married a Johnson.
Young Elkins is on the 1830-1850 Decatur County census. William Elkins is on the 1830 Decatur County census. John Elkins' Will is in the Decatur County Courthouse Will Book A, Page 435 which leaves an inheritance to his relatives."
The Will Book A has been stolen from the courthouse so I am unable to make any copies of any wills that are in that book. I hope this helps.
