DuBois Mystery -- any help?

Dodge County friends -- I have a book of my grandfather, Henry Daniel Lucas, which has written on the flyleaf in his distinctive hand, the following: "H. D. Lucas, Dubois, Ga, Sept 9th 1874" It is a medical book, and Henry later became a physician, graduating from medical school in KY some years after 1874 and then practicing in NC. He was a farm boy from Wilson Co, NC, and would have been 26 years old that year. None of us can figure out any Dubois connection -- can any of y'all help? Thanks.
