My ggrandfather, John Clark Tomlin, married my ggrandmother,Roxie Catherine Jackson, in Montgomery County, Alabama in 1879. He was 23 at the time of the 1880 census in Montgomery County. My grandfather, Roy Laitten Tomlin was born in 1881. My ggrandfather, John Clark Tomlin, died when, Roy Laitten Tomlin, was a small boy. His mother remarried a James R. Conner in 1888 in Macon County, Alabama.

My grandfather, Roy Laitten Tomlin, died in 1920 from burns as a result of a oil refinery explosion in Beaumont, Texas.

On his death certificate my grandmother stated his father,John Clark Tomlin, was born in Minton, Georgia.

Since Minton is in Worth County and Worth County was formed from Dooly in 1854, I am wondering if someone somwhere has any records.

I have tried for 25 years to find out what Tomlin family John Clark Tomlin belonged to. The 1880 census records indicate his father was born in North Carolina and he and his mother were born in Georgia.

Appreciate any help
