Looking for information on a Melissa/Malissa Stewart/Stuart/Steward who was born from 1819 to 1830 in SC(depending on the census you look at) and was married to Benjamin Franklin Hawkins of NC. They show up in the 1850 census in Dooly County, Georgia (now Crisp County, I believe) and are there in 1860 and 1870. I have not been able to find them in 1880. Children were: Malissa, Isabel, Mary Elisabeth, Thomas, George, Benjamin Franklin Jr, Melvina, Samantha and Sarah (not in order of age). Melissa and Benjamin were married before 1843, the approx birthdate of their oldest child listed in 1850 census. There is a John Steward listed in 1840 census for Dooly Co. that has two daughters in the right age range, but I haven't found anything further about him.

Any leads would be most welcome on this family. Thanks,
