age must have been wrong on 1850 census. I check the counting date twice and August is the date at the top of the census image.The official enumeration day of the 1850 census was 1 June 1850. All questions asked were supposed to refer to that date. I don't know if that meant that someone who had died between June 1 and the acutal date of the counting was to be entered as if they were alive. If that's the case, and the remarriage date is correct, I would assume that Daniel McLain died between June 2 and July 18, 1850.
