Looking for information on the following families:
Willis Pope (b. abt 1793 in NC), wife name is Mary (b. abt. 1787). Possibly from Sampson County, NC. Found in Dooly County, Ga in 1840 and 1850. Both assumed to be dead by 1860.
Lewis Pope (b. abt 1821 in NC), first wife is Harriet. They are in Dooly County in 1850, then Mitchell County in 1860 & 1870. Lewis Pope marries Nancy Pope in Mitchell County in 1874. Nancy appears to be the widow of John A Pope ( brother to Lewis?)
John A Pope (b. abt 1824in NC) and wife Nancy are found in Irwin County in 1850, and Colquitt County in 1860. They had the following children:
Mary M b. abt 1849
James Wesley b. abt 1856
Frances J b. abt. 1861
Georgia b. abt. 1861
Josephine b. abt. 1867
Elender E b. abt. 1856
James Wesley Pollock married Minerva Pollock, and Georgia Pope married John Pollock (06 Feb 1881 in Mitchell County), both children of William Pollock and Matilda Wade.
There is also a Westley Pope(b. abt 1836 GA) in Colquitt County in 1860 living next door to John Pope, perhaps a brother. His wife is Mary J, and sons Willis W and Horace J.
