I am looking for information about John Melton Edwards (b. 1818 in SC, moved to Crawford County, Georgia and married Elizabeth Rebecca Hartsfield in 1840, then moved to Dooly County between 1860-1870, which is probably also where he died (sometime between 1870-1900). The 1860 census shows him as a farmer living in Crawford County, married to Elizabeth (40), with children Matilda (16), William (11), George (10), Rutha (7), Newton (6). The 1870 census shows him as a farmer (51) living in Dooly County, married to Elizabeth (51), with children Matilda (25), William (21), George W.(19), Rutha A. (16), Newton (15), Drucilla (9), John (6). Can't find him or his wife again until 1900 census which shows her as a widow of 82 living in Dooly County with her son John and his wife and two children. Doin't have any record of date or location of death, but probably 1870-1900 in Dooly County. I would also like to find out where he was born in SC and of course who his parents were.
