I am still seeking descendents of Henry and Mariah Jones of Stewart Co., Georgia. They are listed in the 1850 Census of Stewart Co., Georgia with their children, as follows: Henry Jones, 47, Farmer ,NC (born in NC?) Mariah, 45, " James, 18, GA Margaret, 16 Mahala, 14 Bryant, 12 Eliza, 10 Samuel, 8 Solomon, 6 Francis, 6, (maybe Frances, as she is listed as a female) Martha, 2 Nancy, (unsure about age, maybe 1 1/2 mos. or 11 months)) In the same family in the 1860 Census in Stewart Co., is listed Thomas, age 7, and Francis is listed as age 13, so her age in 1850 Census may be an error. If not then she and Solomon may have been twins. Solomon Jones was my great-grandfather. He married Patience Williams, my great-grandmother, of Stewart Co. in 1869. Solomon and Mariah were in Albany, Dougherty Co., GA in 1910, as apparent owners of a boarding house, along with some of their grown children, and grandchildren. I believe Solomon died in February of 1912 as I found online a receipt from a mortuary for the funeral of a Solomon Jones. My Solomon is buried in Oakview/Riverside Cemetery in Albany. Mariah died sometime after that and is also bureid in that cemetery, as are one of their sons, Arch Hunter Jones, and some grandchildren. If anyone knows anything about this family, I would like very much to hear from you. You may e-mail me directly if you wish. Thank you. Beverly Jones Brock Notify Administrator about this message?
