Craig,

I'm sorry I gave you the wrong date on the will. It was written and recorded in 1794 then proved in Aug 1803. At the time he wrote his will his wife was still living. But by Aug 1803 she had died so the estate was sold and divided among his children.

I will be traveling to Virginia in late October and hope to find where James' property was located. I have a cousin living in Chantilly, VA who is helping. We are presently searching old land owners maps. We think we have a pretty good idea of where it was.

Today, Sept 4th, he is in Madison County looking for the record of the sale of the property to Mr. Collins. I'm assuming that you have the part of the estate which shows the sale of James property.

I'm hoping to also find where he was buried and maybe a record that will give his place of birth and parents names.
