Deed Book B, page 137, John Spurlock of Elbert Co., planter, for love, goodwill and affection, to my loving son and daughter, Charles and Judy Fain, of said county, give one brown horse, one cow and yearling, one bed and furniture, one four gallon pot, one frying pan, one oven, two pewter basins, two pewter plates, one pewter dish, one saddle and bridle, without any manner of consideration, 31 Mar 1794. Signed John (X) Spurlock. Witness: John Baker, James Fain. Registered 13 Oct 1794. Elbert Co. Deed Book F, page 62, 13 Aug 1799, Charles Fain and Judith, his wife, to Middleton Woods, all of Elbert Co., for $500, 374 acres on Beaverdam Creek waters in said county. Signed Charles (C) Fain, Judith (X) Fain. Witness: James Alston, Eli Eavenson, Elbert Co.; proved by James Alston who saw Eli Eavenson wit., 21 Aug 1799, Nathaniel Hudson, J.P. Registered 22 Aug 1799. Elbert Co. Deed Book H, page 61, Elbert Co., GA, 22 Oct 1799, Joseph King to Charles Fain, both of said county, for an exchange made by King and Fain of 15 acres. King to Fain, 15 acres, adjoining Bradford. Wm. Bradford, in fee simple. Signed Joseph King. Witness John Staples, J.P. Registered 20 Dec 1802. Deed records also contain references to John and David Fain. In the land lottery of 1827 Charles(single),
