The book "Early Cemteries and Gravestones, Elbert Co., GA, 1798-1919" by the Elbert Co. Historical Society shows J. P. Smith 19 Feb 1824-27 Jul 1895 as buried in the Smith-Snellings cemetery. Also buried in that cemetery are: Elizabeth Smith, 2 Dec 1869-27 Nov 1911, w/o Robert; Robert Smith, 14 Sep 1857-10 Dec 1913; and Frances E. Snellings, 31 Aug 1842-4 Apr 1909, w/o G. W. From these listings one might conjecture there was a Smith-Snellings connection somewhere. These burials are listed separately from those in a Snellings cemetery.
