Is this Evans (Augusta), Columbia County, Georgia? If so, Is there anyone who knows the history of it. In about 1855 or so there was an A.J. Evans who owned a plantation there. Who is he or she? On the plantation there was a man named George Washington Evans and his family. Anyone know about him?
