I am looking for the parents and/or grandparents of Alexander Marion Evans, Sr. I've seen his middle name listed as Martin, but he had a son who was a junior. In the index to Pension Applicatins for Indian Wars Service between 1817 and 1898: Evans, Alexander M., widow Sophia E., WA-4664 & WC-2085 filed 25 Jul 1893 in MS, he served in Buffington's Co. of Georgia Volunteers in the Cherokee War of 1839. Alexander was born on 18 Aug 1820. He married Sophronia (Sophia) E. Buffington on 17 Jan 1839 in Hall Co., GA. He died on 21 Nov 1884 in Marshall Co., MS and is buried in Lebanon Church Cemetery. I have seen his birthplace listed as VA, SC and England. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
