A couple of yrs. ago, during a visit to GA from NC, I happened to meet a Mrs. Vennie(?)Beasley Sikes, widow of Palmer Sikes, who lived in Evans Co. not far from Sikes Chapel. A friend and I were at Sikes Chapel getting info from the graves in the plot of my great grandparents, Hamp & Emmie Sikes. On our way back to Bulloch Co. we went to see Mrs. Sikes because we were told that she might remember my grandparents, Ashton & Annie Sikes Lewis. We spent a very enjoyable 2 hours or so with Mrs. Sikes on her front porch that August afternoon. If I recall correctly, she was 91 at the time. She was remarkably "young" for her age and I have thought about her so much since I returned to NC and would very much like to know if she is still in good health. Does anyone know this lady?
