I have a Ruth Dowdy Wilson in my family. She was the daughter of John Dowdy and his wife Ethel, her grandparents
were Robert M. Dowdy and Harriett Sullivan. Harriett Sullivan is the Cherokee connection. I can not find out anything about Harriett Sullivan. Robert M. Dowdy was my
grandfather but his second wife Willie Marietta Ables was
my grandmother.
Harriett Sullivan is buried in Floyd County but I do not
know where and I have been told her grave is not marked.
So far, I have not been able to find her parents. Hope
this helps.
