Red, Redd, Sewell, Brooks families

Seeking any information on the Red, Redd, Sewell, and Brooks families that resided in Forsythe County Georgia in 1820-1900's. My ggrandfather was Joshua L. Red who married Mahuldah Sewell in Forsythe County. Their son, Joshua married America Candy Ann Brooks there also. Seeking information on the Brooks family also. During the Civil War, America and her family were fleeing from General Sherman's army which was burning Georgia. Somehow, America Candy Ann was separated from her family or else something happened to them. She was found by a Brooks family who took her in. She was was only old enough to tell them that her name was Candy Ann. They told her they wold call her America Candy Ann because she belonged to America now. Would greatly like to find anything about who her parents were. Does anyone know of a family who lost a child while fleeing from Sherman's army? Perhaps someone from the Brooks line would have information. Thanks, Shirley King
