I am researching my great great grandparents, Mary Ann Brown and William Brown (born 1840) who lived quite close to Robert Brown and his second wife (Mary E.) in 1870 according to the census. I am attempting to find out if Robert Brown was a slave owner or if anyone is aware of other "Browns" living in Coal Mountain, GA, Forsyth County during this time that were slave owners.
