While researching my the relatives of my ancestor Jacob Reese in Forsyth County, I recently abstracted a few deeds. Finley; deed proved by Jacob Reece 25 February 1847; recorded 27 November 1848 [William Whitmire’s wife Elizabeth was likely a Reese before their marriage] Forsyth Co., Georgia, Book I, p.315: James Lewis of Scriven Co., GA sold Joshua Holden on 18 June 1833, for $50, 40 acres in 1st section 1st district of Cherokee Co., now Forsyth Co.; witnesses Anthony Lewis, Thos. W. McSpadden J.P.; recorded 9 April 1849 [This is significant because it supports the belief that the Joshua Holden found in Murray County in the 1840 census was the same man earlier found in Forsyth Co.] Forsyth Co., Georgia, Book J, pp.259-261: 21 March 1850; William Whitmire of Gilmer Co. sold Richard A. Wood of Forsyth Co. and Charles W. Wood of Hall Co.
