Jerry: I contacted Jimmy McConnell of the Historical Society of Forsyth County. He had seen Steve Phillips last week, who's wife is related to the Terry family. His phone no. is (770)887-7204 (he may work for Parks & Rec.,not sure). Steve said they are trying to clean up the cemetery and I am sure they would appreciate more help.
Jimmy is concerned about the state of some of the old family cemeteries in the county. He is trying to work with the Parks & Rec. to use the "community service workers" as a labor source.
Jimmy said that cemeteries are considered "self-owned", but some have been deeded to Forsyth County. In some cases, a church may adopt a family cemetery that is close by.
