On Ancestry.com Public Family Trees, the Gorey(Gory)-Bruce-Parks family gives Samuel Bruce as the son of Joel Bruce 1785-1840, and Dorcas Unknown 1810-1880.
On 1850 census, Greenville, SC, Dorcas Bruce and family; in 1860 Samuel has married Maryann Henson, living in Cass Co., GA with son Warren.
There is another Samuel Bruce who married a Margaret; some of the children of these two have been co-mingled on some of the family trees on Ancestry.com.
The above family tree seems to have the more researched facts.
