Thos. Thornton, deceased, Franklin Co., 1810

On 12 Sep 1810 the Clerk of the Court of Ordinary of Franklin Co. placed an ad in a Wilkes Co. newspaper calling on all kindred and creditors to appear at the next court to show any cause as to why Benjamin Thornton and Thomas Thornton, Jr., who had applied for Letters of Administration on the estate of Thomas Thornton, deceased, should not be granted such Letters. The Thomas Thornton who was a son of Benjamin Thornton, Sr. of adjoining Elbert Co. would have been only age 10 and therefore could not be the Thomas Thornton, Jr. above. What was the relationship between Thomas Thornton, deceased, and Benjamin Thornton, Sr. and the Thomas Thornton, Jr.? No further estate records have been located.
