North georgia Times, (Murray Co. GA) Thursday, October 14, 1886:
"Thomas Swanger was followed into Gilmer County by Will Cole and Sam B. Carter of this place, arrested, brought back and placed in jail this week. He had stolen a gold ring from Mrs. Will Cole. The ring was recovered."
