Hello Bruce,

Thanks so much for your response. The wife of Col Hart was Agnes Hudson, who was also his first cousin. She was from Virginia, across the line from his family in Granville County, NC.

The only other info that I have is that apparently he was assaulted shortly before his death. I have seen references to that in two newspaper articles. You are probably aware that there is a monument in Myrtle Hill Cemetery which was erected by his men in his memory several years after his death. I also believe that he lived in Early County (south Georgia) briefly. His daughter, Grace married Hight Perry there and there are a few references to him in the newspaper at that time.
