I have researched your family just a bit for a book I am writing on Oak Grove Cemetery in Brunswick.

I have your earliest ancestor as Alydia B. Moore, mother of James William Tabbot. Both of whom are buried in this cemetery. Here is what I have:

I could not find him before 1870, and that is most likely due to the spelling of his name as you suggested. Or they may have been out of the country, who knows?

I did find a woman who matched his mother in 1870 Hancock Co., Maine named Lydia B. Moore aged 62 years. So, I believe you may find some answers in that county, especially since her tombstone states she was from there.

This is all I know for now.
