On or about October 24, 1942 Gladys Maulding Mathews was found badly beaten at Morgan Tourist Camp. She was from Baxley, Georgia and the wife of the owner of Wigwam resturant, William "Bill" Mathews in Baxley. Would appreciate anyone who could find me any newspaper articles on this event and the subsequent investigation in Brunswick,Ga.,Savannah Morning News or Florida Time Union.
