I am beginning to believe that I am the only researcher looking for the family of RICHARD S. THOMPSON (born abt 1800 in Ga.) wife, Rebecca_____ also b. in Ga., living in Gordon Co., Ga.in abt 1820. They could have moved from Jackson Co.,Ga.to Gordon Co. Ga. Need proof. Their children are: ROBERT & wife, store keepers, (murdered in 1860 in Gordon Co.); GEORGE who married "Vinie" Baugh & moved to Franklin Co., Ala.; RICHARD Thompson who married Mary Emma Love of Whitfield Co. Ga. in 1866 and resided in Atlanta, Fulton Co., Ga.; JOHN who married Emma Davis and resided in Russelville,Franklin Co., Ala.; HUMPHRIES F. Thompson who married Isabella Shropshire and was in the 1860 Ark. census; WILLIAM Thompson and MARY A. Thompson. Nothing is known about the last two children.
Question (1) What is Rebecca's maiden name. One Richard Thompson married Rebecca Haney/Hanie in Jackson Co. Ga. in 1818/1819. But,is this the same couple? My time is running out as I am 77 yrs. old and would like very much to solve this puzzle. Please help make an old lady happy. Thank you. Virginia Hagen hagenvt@worldnet.att.net
