Hello: I am seeking information about Dr. William W. Wall who was one of the founders of Calhoun, GA. He served in a number of capacities in the early government, including Justice of the Inferior Court. He was also a medical doctor in Calhoun. He appears on the 1850 and 1860 censuses in Calhoun, Gordon County, GA, but I cannot find him after that. He was born about 1817 in GA and married Rosina Elizabeth Carrie (1823-1903) on 13 Jan 1847 in Augusta, GA. On the 1870 census, his daughter, Augusta C. b. 1853, was visiting a relative in Savannah, but I have been unable to find other members of the family in 1870. Dr. W. W. Wall died sometime prior to 1877 as I find his wife, a widow, living in Atlanta in 1877 (Ref: Atlanta City Directory). The family reappears on the 1880 and later censuses. His children are: William Thompson Wall (1848-1899), Augusta C. Wall (1853-1938), Thomas Gaspard Wall (1855-1940), George R. Wall (1856-1935), and Samuel M. Wall (1859-1941). I suspect that Dr. Wall may have served in the Confederate Army as a surgeon and possibly contracted a disease and died during the war. Any assistance with information about Dr. W. W. Wall or his family would be most appreciated.
