There was no Grady County until 1906. Prior to that Cairo was in Thomas County as was Pine Park, Bold Springs and most of the area now bordering Thomas County. The rest of what is now Grady County was in Decatur County. I looked up your Brownlee and Pylan names in the marriage books of Grady County, Thomas County and Decatur County. They do not appear in any of them. Of course, it is possible that the compilers of these books overlooked this couple. It is also possible that they married some place else. A lot of Grady Countians (including some of my family members) went down to Tallahassee to marry. Before giving up, I suggest you try there.
