I am looking for info on Elisha Lasseter who married Nancy Baker in Greene Co. on Jan. 1, 1802. I would like to know who their children were, and where this family ended up. On that same day ( 1 Jan. 1802) a Brown Lasseter md. Anne Stewart in this County. Were Brown and Elisha related? A Tobias Lasseter lived in Greene Co., GA at the time of his death in 1804. Other Lasseter's who married in Greene Co., GA were Jesse Lasseter (md. Deppe McClendon Jan. 28, 1906) and a John Lasseter (md. Nancy Griffen Dec. 10, 1904). Widow Nancy Lasseter was administrator of the estate of Elisha Lasseter, Jasper Co. GA, in 1816, but I have not seen a copy of this will. The 1850 census of DeKalb Co., GA shows a Nancy Lasseter, widowed, aged 65, living in the household of Shubal Starnes, who married a Martha Lasseter (Sarah's daughter). The 1860 census of Carroll Co., GA shows this Nancy living in the household of James H. Lassetter (son of Tobias). This James Lassetter married Amanda Lasseter in Coweta Co., GA, which indicates that Amanda was another daughter of Nancy. In 1840, Shubal Starnes lived next door to Henry Z. Lassiter. One might speculate that Henry was Shubal's brother-in-law, as his wife was Martha Lassiter. These two lived 8 households away from the above mentioned James Lassetter in 1840. Was Henry a son of Nancy? Another name that comes into the mix is a Richard Lasseter, who married Matilda Gilbert in Walton CO., GA on 27 Feb. 1832. Richard is shown in the 1840 census of Coweta Co., GA, where Amanda Lasseter married James Lassetter. Was Richard a son of Nancy and brother to Henry Z.? Does anyone have any info to connect these families, or a list of Nancy and Elisha's or Nancy and John's children? Thanks for any help. Randy Brooks rhbrooks@clearwater.net
