Benjamin C. Hazelrigs

From my research, Benjamin was a soldier and acquired land in Gwinnett as early as 1832. However, he is not shown as an 'early settler' in Gwinnett County and that disturbs me. I have traced my ancestral line back to Northumberland Co, UK in the 11th century. I am trying to find out which of the line Benjamin is desended out of Virginia. As far as I can tell, the
family came to America and settled in Virginia in the 1600s.
I need help with the connection from Virginia to Georgia. I have found connections from Virginia to Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama, Iowa and Texas, but no connection to the Georgia Hazelrigs family. The other spellings of the name are many, including Hazlerigs, Hazelrigg, Hazelriggs, and Hesilrige.
Help please!
