Tim, looks like our Stone families (my mother was a Stone) may be related cause of their close proximity in both South Carolina, Georgia and possibly AL or TN. Our Stone ancestors probably lived in Greenville Co SC and farmed across the Saluda River in or just outside town of Spartanburg. So Hall County and Habersham very close to where my Stone folks won a Georgia Land Lottery in the old Cherokee Nation. They lived in Gwinnett Co in 1820 along the Chattahoochie across that river in Forsyth. at Stone Mtn in DeKalb when it was created in 1821 from Gwinnett Co. After 1860 (on Milton Co, GA census in 1860) Wiley and Candace Buckner Stone their two younger sons moved to a place called Summitt, AL. I have some note somewhere in haphazard order they lived on Sand Mountain, or valley between it and Lookout Mtn.In any event they and 3 of their four rebel sons migrated on to Arkansas, after AL's state census of 1866. bob in OK
