Looking for information on the family of the Walter Bell who is located in Hall County, Georgia in the 1820 census as follows: p. 132 Thomas Treadaway 1 male 16-25 1 female 16-25 1 male slave under 14 Next door to Thomas and Nancy in Hall County in 1820 (p. 132) is Walter Bell, 4 males under 10 2 males 10-15 1 male 26-44 1 male 45+ 1 female under 10 2 females 10-15 1 female 16-25 1 female 26-44 4 employed in agriculture, no slaves Thomas Treadaway's wife is Nancy Bell, b. abt 1798 in SC, and they were married in Jackson County, Georgia in 1816. As the two families are living side by side, I am wondering if Nancy might be a daughter of Walter. By 1830, Thomas and Nancy had moved to Decatur County, in 1840 to Chattooga and in 1850 into Alabama. In the 1830 census, I don't find Walter, but I do find the following, who might be sons of Walter: 1830 census, Hall County, Georgia p. 68 Abner W. Bell 1 male under 5 1 male 10-15 1 male 15-20 2 males 20-30 2 females under 5 1 female 5-10 1 female 40-50 (thinking this may be Walter's widow, some of the children's ages line up and there is always the possibility some may have died or married between census years) p. 69 James Bell 2 males under 5 1 male 5-10 1 male 20-30 1 female under 5 1 female 5-10 1 female 10-15 1 female 30-40 (this girl 10-15 would fit the daughter under 10 who had been with Walter in 1820, but doesn't show up with Abner W. in 1830, assuming the families are related of course) p. 69 also William M. Bell 2 males under 5 1 male 5-10 1 male 10-15 1 male 30-40 2 females 5-10 1 female 20-30 Does anyone know anything about these families? Are they in fact related? Could they be the family of Nancy Bell m. Thomas Treadaway? Any leads, suggestions or information welcome. Thanks, Karen Dutton Notify Administrator about this message?
