Can you tell me if you are refering to the same "Buck" Hammond refered to in the History of Walker County by James Sartain. There is a paragraph on page 419 that states:

"Hill and Bee, brothers, sons of Volentine Hammond, who was a son of Joseph, whose father, "Buck" Hammond, was first cousin to Miles R. Hammond, live at LaFayette".

The reason this is so important to me is that Miles R. Hammond was my ggg grandfather and I have never been able to find out who his grandparents were. It seems to me if "Buck" and Miles were first cousins with the same last name they decend from their father's side and would have the same grandparents. I thought that might give me another route to finding them if this is the same "Buck". Hope all this makes sense to you. It would be wonderful to hear from anyone with information because this is my brick wall. Thanks, Billie
