Nancy Bird abt. 1805-1861 married Stephen Hiram Rowe 1802-1881 in Hancock County, GA in 1824. Stephen Hiram Rowe was a son of Joshua II Rowe and Sarah Rigby.
I suspect, but would like to confirm, that Nancy was a dtr of Allen Bird and Mary Jane Brantly. Allen was a son of Peter Bird, Sr. of Halifax Co., NC; he and Mary Jane married (according to a kinsman) in 1790 in Halifax Co.
Known children of Allen and Mary Jane include John, Penelope (Penny), David and Robert.
I don't have authoritative ages for any of the offspring, but if my theory is correct, John was born abt. 1800 and David abt. 1810. Nancy Bird, b. abt. 1805 is found in Jackson Co., FLORIDA (NOT GA) Census 1860 with Stephen and 7 children. Nearby households are headed by a John Bird, age 60, and a David Bird, age 50.
Can anyone confirm who Nancy's parents were?
