I am collecting information on Martha Dennis who married Allen Lester of Newberry District, S.C. Their children were: William Lester m. Sallie Hunter; James Lester m. Elizabeth Boozer; Charlie Lester died in 1862 of wounds received in the WBTS; Alfred Lester; George Lester m. Harriet Rikard; Martha Lester m. Mr. Connelly; Prudence Lester m. Mr. Rodgers; Phoebe Lester m. Mr. Kirkland; and Jane Lester m. Mr. Rickard. Allen Lester was a son of Charles Lester and Jane Musgrove who were married abt. 1790 in Newberry, S.C.
Charles Lester's brother, John Lester, married Sarah Edwards and they named one of their sons, Dennis (b. June 10, 1793 in Newberry District, S.C.; d. March 1, 1872 in Jones Co., Ga.).
Many of the Lesters migrated to Georgia, some remained, while others migrated further into Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas.
I would appreciate any information concerning the Dennis connections to the Lester lines.
