Would anyone identify with or have information on Edward PRICE or Meredith PRICE in Hancock County, GA in the late 1700's/early 1800's. If so, would appreciate hearing from you. The following two citations are taken from reference, "Hancock County, Georgia Court of Ordinary Minutes: 1799-1817" compiled by J. Kenneth Brantley. Page 2: At a Court of Ordinary held in and for the County of Hancock on the first Monday in September (2nd Day) 1799: The last will and testament of EDWARD PRICE Dec'd proven by oaths of Matthew HOPKINS and William CARSON as also by the oath of Wm GILES (who was sworn to the hand writing to have been the proper handwriting of s'd PRICE) and ordered to be recorded. Page 34: On Tuesday the 6th of January 1801 - Whereby Robert CHAMBERS & John JONES Executors of the last will of MEREDITH PRICE dec'd has sold a certain tract of land lying on Buck Creek adjoining the rock landing tract, which was the property of s'd dec'd to James THWEATT. Whereupon the court has ordered that it be entered on the minutes that they sanction and hold lawful this said sale. I continue to believe that my PRICE family line came out of Hancock/Jones County, Georgia area in early 1800's into Clarke County, Alabama area before going into Lauderdale County, Mississippi in 1840's. It's obvious that these two PRICE's did not make the trip out of Georgia, but it may well be that some other PRICE family members did. Any/all help appreciated with information on PRICE families in Hancock County, GA in this time period. Will be GLAD to share information I have. Notify Administrator about this message?
