If you are still looking for your Tillman relatives in Hancock County, Georgia I may be able to help. Frederick Tillman Sr. had moved to Hancock before 1802. He had a son, David who still lived in Edgefield, S.C.

The parents of Frederick are George Stephen Tillman and Francis Mitchell.

Frederick was a brother to my Lucretia Tillman Huffman.

In the Edgefield Genealogical Library there is a book entitled: Deed Books 19, 20, 21, and 22 abstracted by Carol Wells. In deed book 22, page 132 you will find this: p.235-236 Frederick Tillman Senr of Hancok County, Georgia, to son David Tillman of Edgefield. Deed 4 January 1802, love & goodwill, 391 acres on Hornes Creek adj. lands of Sullivant, Daniel Huff, Lewis Tillman, Edmond Boyd and Purveses old line. Wit J Pound, Loyd Kelley J.P. Lurhvisy Huffman, James wood /s/Frederick Tillman. Proven 4 October 1802 by Lewchre Huffman: Richard Tutt C.C. Rec. 4 October 1802.

Try researching the Tillman family in Edgefield, S.C. There is a wealth of information awaiting!

Good luck.
