TARVER and HARRIS

On 12-23-1801, there was a paszsport through the creek nation to the western Territory prepared for BENJAMIN TARVER, SAMUEL HARRIS and JOHN HARRIS and their families. This was issued out of Hancock Co., GA.

It is my belief that they were the three men of these names who settled in Wilson Co., TN, about that time.

A Benjamin Tarver died in 1804 in Wilson Co., and his son, Benjamin Tarver was administrator.

It is possible that this Benjamin of Hancock Co., was the same man as the Benjamin Tarver (husband of Martha), who was in Washington Co., GA in 1797 when his daughter, Nancy Tarver Wright, widow of Gen. John Wright, married her second husband, the Rev. John Dew.

The Dews and Nancy's sisters (if not the entire family) Celia and Mary Tarver all settled originally in Wilson Co., TN around 1801-2.

Are there county records that mention any of these people?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Bob
