Carolyn,
Theodocius TURK was related to(probably the son of) a Thomas TURK of Newberry/Edgefield Co. S.C.
Virlinda FINDLEY(FINLEY) TURK was the daughter of John FINDLEY and Ann NORRIS FINDLEY, both born (early 1720's to 30's) in Prince George's Co. Maryland.
I have a copy of a map showing land deeds issued to Thomas TURK, John FINDLEY and John NORRIS(thought to be the brother to Ann NORRIS FINDLEY)listed in 1769-71 in what was at that time, known as being in Old Ninety Six District(one listed as being in Berkely Dist.). These parcels of land are just north of the Saluda River and a few miles east of Maxwell's Neck, where the later counties of Laurens, Edgefield, and Newberry Converge. I found this map in the a book at the library and should be easy for you to find too. I believe its listed as "Old South Carolina Deeds?" Or something to that effect. If I could find it you can too, sorry I don't have that information in front of me, other than the map.
John FINDLEY left his Will in Greene Co. GA in 1803, listing, among his other children, daughter Virlinda TURK and son-in-law Theodocius TURK.
I am researching the NORRIS family. My ggg-grandfather Anderson Martin NORRIS married WInnifred LEDBETTER in Greene Co. GA on Feb. 26, 1832. Anderson is shown to be connected to the NORRIS family from Edgefield Co. S.C.
I'm not sure if my family connects to the TURK and FINDLEY(FINLEY) family at this time but thought I would let you know what I have on the family you are researching.
