I am looking for my great-great grandfather's information. His name was Phelix (or Felix) Deering. However, I have heard that he was born (1876, GA) to an unwed mother, and when she married someone else, he was given the surname Deering. Does anyone know if this is true? His parents' names were Thomas A. DEERING and Francis Fannie M. HOUSTON. He married Cynthia Linnie PARRIS in 1899. I would love any information on the PARRIS line, too.
Also, Phelix's son, Clifford DEERING, married Alvie ROBINSON. According to what I have heard on this side of my family, Alvie was also born to an unwed mother, and she took her mother's name. So, I do not have any paternal information for her, but I do know that her mother was Thelma ROBINSON. That is as far as I have gotten, however.
I would love to hear from anyone having any information to contribute to these two families!!! Thanks!
