My great grandfather was Elijah Stephens. He is buried at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cherokee County, AL. He died at the Old Soldiers Home here in Atlanta. I don't know much about the family. His daughter Eunice Irene married A.Z. Trammell and they lived in Piedmont, AL.

There is a Bethany Church in Tallapoosa. You might want to contact the Secretary/Treasure of that Church for they usually kept all the records.Their address is: 420 Bethany Church Road, Tallapoosa, GA and phone number is 770 574-9292. There is also a Clark Peek in Rome, GA that is a member of this family that has been doing research too. Good luck. Sandra
